August Selewsky (Zelewski, Zalewski) married Francis Klonowaka about September 10, 1883. They had 12 children. One was Mary Selewski (Zelewski, Zalewski, Selewsky, Zelewsky) which was Lorraine Gaffke Jorgensen's mother.

My grandmother, Lorraine Jorgensen spelled her grandfather's name as Zalewski and her mother, Mary Gaffke, August's daughter, spelled her maiden name Zalewski.

Just an FYI: The Joseph Zalewski that is linked to August and Frances as their son is not the correct Joseph. The linked Joseph is buried in Mt Olivet, but he was born in July 1893 and he died in 1953.

All of the records for the son of August and Frances show that he was born on 21 Feb 1892 and died on 26 Nov 1970. His government records (WWI and WWII draft registrations, his Social Security info, his Veterans Affairs Death File ) all have those dates and the SELESKI spelling. I didn't find a Findagrave memorial for him under that spelling and I don't know where he is buried.

The son of August and Frances was married to Agnes Krause and had two children - Jean and Wilfred. I think the other (incorrect) Joseph was married to Frances Kuffel. That Joseph may or may not have had a son named Joseph (1928-1980), as that other profile shows.

I've sent an edit suggestion to the person who manages the profile for the Joseph who died in 1953, giving her this same info. If she follows through, then the links between Frances and August to the wrong Joseph should disappear automatically. If they don't, you might want to put a note on your profiles for August and Frances, explaining that the Joseph who died in 1953 is NOT their son. That might prevent people from using the wrong info from Findagrave for their Ancestry trees.
