Philip Nickey, a well-known and highly respected resident of Newport, died at his home in that place Monday of last week. Death was due to a heart attack. He had been in his usual health until Saturday, when on coming home from work he complained of not feeling well and his condition grew rapidly worse until death ensued. He was aged 71 years and 3 months. He is survived by his wife and three daughters.
The deceased has been engaged in the draying business. He was a kind, good natured man whom everybody respected. His passing is greatly regretted. He was a member of the Newport Lodge, No. 192, I. O. O. F.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon of last week, with burial in Newport cemetery.
