Edith Pitotti, 87, formerly of Roseto and Wind Gap died Saturday, April 10, in Phoebe Slate Belt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Washington Township. She was the wife of the late Emilio Pitotti, who died in 1994.
Born on Jan. 30, 1917, in Washington Township, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Catherine (Carrescia) Damico.
Employed as a seamstress in various garment factories in the Slate Belt, she retired from the former Quality Garment of Bangor in 1979.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Parish of Bangor and Roseto, where she served a deacon and elder, and was a past shipper of Anchor Club of the church. She was also a member of Eastern Star-Shutanka Chapter 202 of Pen Argyl; and member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Roseto Rod & Gun Club.
She was a past president of the PTA for the former Columbus School in Roseto from 1952 to 1954, a former vice president of Roseto Chapter 4135 of AARP, a member and past secretary of the Roseto Senior Citizens; and member and former board member of the Slate Belt Senior Citizens.
She was a member of the Retirees Club of the Union of Needletrades, Industrial & Textile Employees.
Surviving are one daughter, Rebecca Ruggiero of Bangor; two sons, Raymond Pitotti of Pen Argyl and Nelson Pitotti of Hayden, Idaho; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Angie Cascioli and Dora Campanaro; and one brother, Pasquale Damico.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, in the Presbyterian Parrish of Bangor and Roseto Church, 332 Kennedy Drive, Bangor. Burial will be in Roseto Presbyterian Cemetery, Roseto.
Calling hours take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, at Fiore Funeral Home, Third and Market streets, Bangor, and 10 a.m. until time of the services on Thursday at the church.
Memorial donations may be given to the church.
