Dennis M. Burns Jr., 22, of Effort, died Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.
Born in Newton, N.J., on April 13, 1980, he was the son of Dennis Burns Sr. and Anna (Kampka) Burns of Effort.
He was a Pleasant Valley High School graduate, Class of 1998. Recently he was a security agent for Burns Security in Denville, N.J. Prior to that he had served for three years in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Little Rock, Ark.
He was a member of the West End Baseball League.
In addition to his parents, Dennis and Anna, he is survived by a sister, Deanna Burns of Effort; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Emily Kampka of Newton, N.J., and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Route 209, Gilbert, with the Rev. David Felker officiating. Interment will be in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Dennis and Anna Burns, 74 Jennifer Lane, Effort, PA 18330, or to the West End Volunteer Fire Company, Brodheadsville, PA 18322.
