THE WARRENSBURG NEWS, THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, 1936:
Albert C. Alden, thirty-nine, a member of the Warrensburg town board, died at 4:55 o'clock Sunday morning, at his home in River street, after an illness of several month's duration. Mr. Alden operated a grocery store in River street for several years, purchasing it from the late Robert Baker. He had been connected with the business for many years, being employed by the late Freeman Cameron and then L. A. Mosher. He was a veteran of the World War, and was a past commander of Warrensburg post, 446, American Legion, of which he was a charter member, and past vice commander of the county organization. For some years he was service office for the local Legion post, giving up the work when his health made it impossible for him to carry on. He was a direct descendant of John Alden, one of the early Pilgrims. Mr. Alden is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cecilia Kelleher Alden; a son, Albert K., and his mother, Mrs. Seth A. Alden, all of Warrensburg. Funeral services, which were largely attended, were held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, in St. Cecilia's church, the Rev. John J. Kilduff, pastor, officiating. Burial was in St. Cecilia's cemetery, where the American Legion post conducted their ritual.
