Mr. Bain was an auto parts salesman, He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army in North Africa, Normandy, Sicily, Italy and England during World War II. He was a member of Noonday Baptist Church, the VFW and Masonic Lodge No. 1233.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie Bain, of Tyler; stepsons, Carl Gentry and wife Cathy, of Weatherford, Terry Gentry, of Tyler, Harold Garrett and wife Tammy, of Tyler, and Larry Garrett and wife Linda, of Denton; grandchildren, Amy Tabb, of Round Rock, Todd Gentry, of McKinney, Ryan Gentry, of Tyler, Jacob Garrett, of Keller, Nicky Garrett, of Denton, Clayton Garrett, of Tyler, Zack Oliver, of Lindale; great-grandchildren, Cohen and Colton Tabb, Megan and Sean Gentry, Cade and Kennedy Gentry, Paisley and Levi Garrett; sisters, Dolly Taylor and husband Francis, Etheline Tate, Margie Ralson and husband Clifton; brothers, H.L. Bain, Billy Bain and wife Joanne, David Bain and wife Carolyn; brother-in-law, Bobby Neely; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bain was preceded in death by parents; his first wife of 30 years, Jeane Bain; four brothers and one sister.
Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
