Joseph D. Jakups died on Dec. 13, 2012, with his entire family at his side at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. Born on Sept. 1, 1959, he was the son of Donald Jakups and Mary Jane Edlebeck. On April 12, 1980, he married the former Diane Ellie at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grover. Joseph worked at KSU for 33 years and was an avid fisherman, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Diane; his father, Donald, Crivitz; his mother, Mary Jane (Fred), Wausaukee; three sons, Brad, Peshtigo; Eric (Kimberly), Marinette; and Dan (significant other, Allison Herzog), Peshtigo; five brothers, John (Yvonne) and Jim (Laura), both of Wausaukee; Jerry and Jody, Crivitz; Jayme, Marinette; three sisters, Donna (Bernard) McVane, Porterfield; Darlene (Milan) Kuaca, Pembine; JoAnne (Tom) DeVetter, Green Bay; four grandchildren, Austin, Layla, Dylan and Rosaile; and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by, brothers-in-law, Dennis (Judy) Ellie and Ron Ellie, both of Peshtigo; and Wayne Ellie, Marinette; sister-in-law, Sharon (Ralph) Prey, Oconto.

Joseph was preceded in death by, a sister, Rose Ann Jakups; a brother-in-law, Steve Kornita; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Arthur and Elaine Ellie.

Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.
