Edith Henson, a Colorado Springs resident for 52 years, passed away December 6, 2012 in Loveland, Colorado at the age of 89. Edith was born on March 14, 1923 in Fraser, Colorado to Elmer J. Johnson and Olga (Ragsdale) Johnson. She married Donovan Henson on April 12, 1943 in North Carolina. They made their home in Fraser and Breckenridge until eventually settling in Colorado Springs. She retired from School District #11 where she had worked as a secretary in the administration building. Above all else, she loved and cherished her family but also enjoyed camping, fishing, going to church, being a member of the red hat society, and was an avid fan of all Colorado pro teams. She is survived by her two sons; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her loving husband of nearly 70 years: Donovan Henson, and two daughters: Sharon Joyce and Connie Dawson. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Shrine of Remembrance America the Beautiful Chapel.
