Marshall LeRoy Bentsen longtime resident of Wheaton Marshall LeRoy Bentsen, 86, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012. He was born on Nov. 4, 1926, in Chicago, to Arne and Gudrun (nee Swaback) Bentsen.

Marshall graduated from University of Illinois in management, from Triton College in accounting and attended Moody Bible Institute evening classes. He worked as an accountant at various firms including: Bonnar and Vauter, Frazier and Torbit, MAP International and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He also continued his father's business, Arne Bentsen and Sons Painting and Decorating in Oak Park. He was a member of the Peoples Class at Wheaton Bible Church. He enjoyed fishing and swimming in Lake Geneva, Wis.

In 1953, he married Viola Gustafson who preceded him in death in 1955. Their daughter, Diane Evelyn, was born in 1955. In 1963, he married Dorothy Kellogg and they had two sons, David Marshall and Samuel Arne.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Bentsen; three children, Diane, David and Samuel (Kirsten); four grandsons, Luke, Levi, Lars and Leif; and his brother, Warren.

A special gratitude to Almario Adraneda who helped care for him for the last six years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ivar; and his first wife, Viola.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, where a funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. with the Rev. John White officiating.

Interment will be held privately in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill.
