Margaret Gray (Nov. 1837-Mar. 1857). Soon
after her birth, Margaret's mother died so she
was raised by her grandparents.
Granddaughter of Charles Tuckey (Apr. 18,
1802-July 5, 1868) and Mary Burgess (May 9,
1806-July 30, 1892) natives of England,
farmers in London Township, Ontario and
both buried in the Melrose Methodist Cemetery
in Lobo Township, Middlesex County.
Also granddaughter of:
Robert Gray (Nov. 1810-Mar. 14, 1876)
native of Etton, E. Yorkshire, England and
Mary Routledge (1804-Aug. 25, 1875) native
of Cumberland County, England, farmers in
London Township, Ontario and both buried in
the Anglican cemetery, Arva, Ontario, as is
also Margaret (Gray) Tuckey, named above.
Margaret married William Tomlinson Jr.
(Oct. 16, 1850-Mar. 11, 1927) born in Toronto
Township, Peel County, Ontario, s/o William
Tomlinson Sr. and Ann Parks. They were
married on Oct. 5, 1876 in Adelaide Township
Ontario.
About 1879 they moved with their first two
children (born in Middlesex County, ON) to
Tuscola County, MI where they farmed.
Their children were:
(1) Ann Helena 'Lena' (1877-1947) wife of
Edward M. Drake;
(2) Charles William (1878-1945) who married
Harriet May Trader;
(3) Laurence Elbert "Mike" (1880-1947)
married first - Rachel Ann Brown, and second
Charlotte "Lottie" (Milan) Bottke;
(4) Leonard Leroy (1881-1897)
(5) Alice Iola (1883-1970) wife of Willis
Alvin Beecher;
(6) Archie Roy (1885-1885)
(7) Earl Preston (1887-1959) married first -
Theresa Ashworth, and second - Elma Solberg;
(8) Alma Pearl (1890-1981) wife of Jethro
Jesse "Jess" Ross.
