Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Kassly funeral home chapel, East St. Louis, for Benjamin Joseph Allen, 39, of 5304 Bond Ave., Allerton, formerly of Glen Carbon.
Mr. Allen was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday about 4 p.m. at the Centreville Hospital following a motorcycle-automobile accident.
Born Sept. 3, 1921 in Glen Carbon, he was the son of the late Otis J. and Mary Jane Williams Allen.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; four sons and a daughter, all at home, Otis George, Larry Dean, Steven James, David Paul and Mary Margaret; one brother, George Otis Allen, Arkansas; five sisters, Mrs. Vivian French and Mrs. Gertrude Bush, both of Glen Carbon, Mrs. Opal Bush of Coos Bay, Ore., Mrs. Bernadine Falcetti, Granite City, and Mrs. Lorraine Entrican, Seattle, Wash.
Mr. Allen, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, was a welder at the A.O. Smith Co. and a member of Boilermakers Union, Local 575.
Friends may call at the funeral home until the final rites. The Rev. H.D. Beidinger will be in charge. Interment will be in the Glen Carbon cemetery.
