Edward E. Racan, 82 of 136 Orchard Ave., Ellwood City, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at his residence.

Born in Republic, PA on April 27, 1930, he was the son of the late Marko and Anna Valaste Racan. Edward is survived by his wife, the former Shirley A. McCoy whom he married on June 9, 1956. He had worked as a kiln operator at Lava Crucible in Zelienople. He was a member of the First Church of God in Ellwood City. Edward enjoyed playing golf and watching golf and football on TV.

Besides his wife, Shirley A. Racan, he is survived by two sons and their wives, Mark E. and Deborah Racan of Chippewa and Barry A. and Tamara Racan of Ellwood City; a step-son and his wife, Ronald and Jeri Rough of Ellport; two sisters, Irene Sauers and Sally Martini, both of Uniontown; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Racan and a sister, Elizabeth Racan.

Friends may call at the First Church of God in Ellwood City on Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Phil Conklin.

Memorial contributions can be made in Mr. Racan's name to the First Church of God, 1862 Mercer Rd., Ellwood City, PA 16117.
