Bannaster (Banister) was the son of Samuel Wilson of probably Oxford County, Maine and Lucy (Bennett) Wilson of probably Oxford County, Maine. Lucy and Samuel were married about 1832 in probably Bethel, Oxford County, Maine. Lucy and Samuel had seven children. They were: Edmund Wilson was born in 1834 in Bethel, Oxford County, Maine; Joseph S. Wilson (# 102277977) was born on 08 July 1834 in Bethel, Oxford County, Maine; Anna E. Wilson was born in 1838 in Bethel, Oxford County, Maine; Bannaster N. Wilson was born in February 1840 in Bethel, Oxford County, Maine; Elizabeth Wilson was born in 1844 in Bethel, Oxford County, Maine; Ransom Wilson was born in 1847 in Coos County, New Hampshire; and Emeline Wilson was born in 1849 in Coos County, New Hampshire.

Bannaster married Noicir (Lovica) M. Durkee in 1863 in possibly Maine, or New Hampshire. Noicir and Bannaster had nine children. They were: Franklin S. Wilson was born in 1864 in probably Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; Andrew J. Wilson was born on 22 November 1865 in probably Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; Minerva F. "Minnie" Wilson was born in June 1868 in probably Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; Lelan Wilson was born in 1871 in probably Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; Edith Wilson was born in 1873 in possibly Maine, or New Hampshire; Dana A. Wilson was born in January 1874 in probably Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; Blanche Wilson was born in 1878 in probably Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; Ida Wilson was born about 1880 in Probably Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire; and Hazen B. Wilson was born in May 1886 in probably Wentworth Location, Coos County, New Hampshire.
