A sad as well as almost sudden death occurred in our neighborhood last Sunday. Mat Caudill, son of Henry Caudill and a grand-son of Lewis Caudill ate a small piece of cheese about one o'clock in the evening, took suddenly ill and died that night about three o'clock. He was one of the most popular young men of the neighborhood and, it is said, was engaged to be married to Miss Nora Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Smith. She with the whole neighborhood joined in mourning the death of young Caudill. His death is regarded as a warning to our young people.
