Mrs. Keziah was born on August 30, 1921 in Charlotte, NC, a daughter of the late Charles Lamar Potts and Mary Miller Bobbitt Potts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Joseph Keziah .
Mrs. Keziah attended the public schools in Charlotte and graduated from Central High School. She attended Peace and Queens Colleges before entering Presbyterian School of Nursing. After graduation, she did private duty and institutional work before entering the US Army in February 1945.
After serving in the Army, she went to the UNC School of Public Health in Chapel Hill, where she received her BS Degree in Public Health. In 1966, she received her MPH Degree at UNC.
Mrs. Keziah joined the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Health Department as a staff nurse in 1946. She became Nursing Supervisor in 1951 and was Director of Public Health Nursing from 1958 until her retirement. She served as President of the NC Public Health Association in 1963. Mrs. Keziah was a member of Dilworth United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Keziah is survived by her cousins, Carolyn Bobbitt Felton, Flora Lee Bobbitt, Pearl Bobbitt, Hughes B. Hoyle, III, Samuel Pettus Hoyle, Henry Bobbitt Hoyle, Buford B. Sachtler, Harreit B. Moss, Sarah B. Carter, Charles Grier Potts and Walter Rankin Potts.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 8, 1999 at Dilworth United Methodist Church, 605 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC, with The Reverend Douglas R. Fairbanks, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mary Martha Scholarship Fund, Dilworth United Methodist Church, 605 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
