Edith was the daughter of Victor Johnston and Elizabeth (Lizzie) (Girard) Johnston. Some family referred to her by the nick name of "Aunt Todi" Her second marriage was to Louis J. Reckenthaler b. 1886-d. 1971. He is buried with his first wife. At some point the spelling of the last name of Johnson was officially changed to Johnston. Some of the children used the Johnson spelling and others used the Johnston spelling.
In the 1900 and 1910 census her last name is found spelled Berg, because her mother had remarried to Herman Berg and all of the children's last name was given as Berg. Edith had three half siblings Verna, Florence b. Feb. 1900 and Goldie b. Nov. 29, 1904. Goldie has not been found on FAG and was last found in the 1930 census.
