Mr. John C. Segars, age 84, of McDonough, GA passed away February 12, 2011. He was born in Miami, FL the son of the late John C. and Reggie Poole Segars. He was also preceded in death by sons, Ronald, David, and Gary Segars and several siblings. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his dogs, reading, gospel music and working as a machinist. He served his country in the US Army from 1945 – 1947. Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Betty Segars of McDonough; son and daughter-in-law, John and Anne Segars of McDonough; sisters, Johnnie S. Moore of Austell and Frances Dragoo of Texas; sister–in-laws and brother-in-law, Ila and Neal Lovins, and Sara Payton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. Segars will be Tuesday, February 15, 2011- 11:00 AM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Sheppard officiating. Interment will be at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 – 8:00 PM.
