Funeral Services for Harry Carter, of St. Mary Street, who died Sunday at the Burlington General Hospital, were held yesterday from the Slack Funeral Home. The Rev. Fr. Harry S. Ruth, Rector of St. Barnabas Church, officiated. Internment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ella VanSciver Carter; a daughter, Mrs. Amon Wells, Sr., of Burlington; and a son, George, of Camden.
The deceased was a former member of Burlington Common Council and an ex-chief of the Burlington Fire Department. He also served as a door guard and later, as supervisor of bills in the New Jersey State Legislature. He was a member of the Mitchell Fire Company.
Mrs. Carter is a patient at the Burlington General Hospital where both she and her husband were taken February 10. She is reported to be improving.
