Clement C. is likely named after former Senator & governor of Alabama Clement Comer Clay.

Clement was the son of John C. Carpenter & Francis Bufford, he died before 1900. No death certificate or burial information.When Clement died he was probably buried on his farm. It happened a lot back then and they did not turn deaths in to any entity.

Clement married 1st to Victoria Sewell 10-16-1862. She was the daughter of Baldwin Sewell & Lucinda McGaha.
