David E. Ligon, 61, of Kilgore, Texas, passed away Friday at his home in Kilgore.

David was born November 26, 1950 in Kilgore, Texas.

He lived most of his life in Kilgore. He was a 1969 graduate of Kilgore High School and attended Kilgore College. David worked for Basic Energy for many years. He loved working and enjoyed fishing and in his younger years enjoyed sports and especially baseball.

David is survived by his wife, Julie Ligon of Kilgore; mother, Jessie Ligon of Kilgore; children, Kishla Davis and husband J.P of Tyler, Angela Ligon of Kilgore, Nicole Bentley and husband Rory of British Columbia and Matthew Ligon of Nova Scotia; sister, Nelda Close and husband Ronnie of Kilgore; grandchildren, Trevor Ligon of Longview, Rex Davis of Tyler, Ty Davis of Tyler, Oliver Bentley and Layla Bentley both of British Columbia; nephew, Greg Close and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Curtis Ligon.
