Naomi C. "Peg" Long, 72, of Rock Cave, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

She was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Upshur County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Hendrix and Naomi Gillespie Heater. She was united in marriage on Aug. 30, 1952, to Tom Long who survives.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Burlin Long and his wife, Kim, Rochester; a daughter, Dianne Long, Conway; two granddaughters, Andrea Long, Conway, and Amanda Radaker, Rochester; a brother, Thomas Heater, in Minnesota; a sister, Ruth Lehman, in Oklahoma, and a sister-in-law, Marianne Heater, in Arizona. Several nieces and nephews survive.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Long loved her grandchildren and also loved her dogs. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. She was retired after 30 years of service as a physical therapist assistant with the Beaver County Geriatric Center. She was a Methodist by faith and attended the Salem Ridge United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the HEAVNER & CUTRIGHT FUNERAL CHAPEL, Buckhannon, W.Va. Mrs. Long will be moved to the Salem Ridge United Methodist Church on Friday to lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m., the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Salem Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salem Ridge United Methodist Church in care of Carl Snyder, HC 78 Box 83, Rock Cave, W.Va. 26234.

The Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
