Mr. Grimes passed away Tues., Dec. 11, 2012 in Dallas.
He was born Aug. 16, 1932 in Jacksonville.
Mr. Grimes graduated from Jacksonville ISD in 1949, served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a retired oilfield worker.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 30 years Jeanie Grimes, parents Melvin D. Grimes and Viola Sanford Grimes, brothers J. and W. D. Grimes, and sisters Opal Ainsworth and Dorothy Allen.
Survivors include his son Stephen Grimes and wife Kristi of Mesquite; stepson Lloyd Autin of Mobile, AL; sister Christene Smith and husband Oscar of Jacksonville; three grandchildren Lindsey V. Grimes, Stacie M. Grimes and Caitlyn M. Grimes; and many friends.
Visitation with the family will be from 10 - 11:15 a.m., Fri., Dec. 14 at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
