Margaret died in Jackson County, Alabama, December 18, 1838. She died of Measles and in childbirth. She and the child were buried at Ebenezer Camp Ground Cemetery located in Bryant, Jackson County, Alabama.

A volunteer walked the entire Ebeneezer cemetery in Bryant, Jackson County, Alabama to attempt to locate a headstone. But, they were unable to locate any such stone. Thanks to all the volunteers who sacrifice their time for such endeavors.

Apparently she and her child are in an unmarked grave. The source of the information indicating that they are buried in this cemetery is as follows:

"Facts & Reminiscences" by James Gilbert Russell Berry, son of Margaret. James dictated information to his daughter, Margaret, in Waco, Texas in 1906, one year prior to his death in 1907. Margaret typed it up as a manuscript for posterity. The original document is said to be in the custody of the Arkansas Historical Commission but could not be located in 1969. As of January 2013 a copy was in the possession of Caroline Cryar, of Conroe, Texas. Caroline is the 2nd great-granddaughter of Margaret Berry.

After further discussion with Caroline Cryar, it was discovered that she and her husband had gone to Scottsboro, Alabama some years back to try to find the headstone themselves. When they arrived at the site of the cemetery they discovered that the old headstones had been bulldozed to the corner of the property and the church was gone. Therefore, I now have doubts as to whether this cemetery is the proper one in which to indicate her burial. Could there have been another Ebenezer Campground Church Cemetery in Scottsboro, Alabama which is 42 miles away from Bryant?
