Vance Senter was admitted to the Washington State Society of the national Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Seattle Chapter, on April 9, 1976, through his Patriot ancestral Great-Great-Great-Grandfather Deacon Thomas Senter. Vance served as the Washington State Society President from 1982-1984, and as the National Society Vice President General of the Pacific District from 1985-1987. In 1992 he was appointed to the position of National Surgeon General of SAR. In 1995 Vance was awarded the highest honor presented to SAR members, the Minuteman Medal.
