The son of the late Walter and Margaret Anderson, he was born May 4, 1937 in New York City. He married Maureen O'Sullivan on April 30, 1960. Buddy served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1964; he began working for UPS in 1961 and retired in 1984.
Buddy was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He took great pride in his rose and vegetable gardens. Teaching his grandchildren how to fish and garden brought Buddy great pleasure; he was very proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them participate in a various sports. Buddy also enjoyed training dogs; his constant companion through his illness was his yellow Labrador retriever, Toby.
Buddy is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Maureen; his children: Michael and his wife, Jennifer of Berkshire, NY; John and his wife, Maria of Mountainville, NY; and Christine O'Neill and her husband, Thomas of Albany, NY. Buddy has five beloved grandchildren: Michael, Emily, Julia, Ian, and Perri Anderson. Buddy is also survived by two siblings, nieces and nephews.
