Adolfo M. Brady, 74, a longtime resident of Benavides, Texas, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in an Alice Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Carrizo Springs to his parents George and Dolores Brady. His passion was his horses. Since very young he participated at Rodeos. His sport was Tie down roping and Team Roping. He also taught his sons everything he knew about breaking and training roping horses, and the Art of Roping. Adolfo worked at many ranches and at his last job he had the opportunity to work at Armstrong Ranch under the late Ann Armstrong who was an ambassador to New England. He was well-liked and respected there, because of his expertise of working with cattle. Adolfo served in the armed Forces from 1951-1959 and received his honorable discharged. He was also recognized in two books entitled; Flying Cowboys and Texas American Cultures

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Dolores Brady; his two brothers, Alberto and Jose Brady; his two sisters Concha Garcia and Carolina Hernandez. Adolfo is survived by his wife of 47 years of marriage, Lily M. Brady of Benavides, Texas; two sons, Adolfo "Bo" Brady Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; Joseph Scott (Glenda) Brady of Benavides, Texas; three daughters, Cynthia (Vale) Brady Villarreal of San Jose, California; Deborah Brady (James) Tullos of Kingsville, Texas; Karen Brady (David) Guzman of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, George Brady Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; Arturo (Norma) Brady of Carrizo Springs, Texas; two sisters, Carmen Brady Zambrano of Carrizo Springs, Texas; Oralia Brady (Jesus) Perales of Carrizo Springs, Texas; 13 grandchildren ,James Thomas, Jessica Marie, and Cody Allen Tullos; Jason Lee and Bo Brady Jr., Daniel Perez; Alyssa Nicale and Kyle Brady Guzman; Keanu Scott; Alexandra Raeleen Brady; Victoria, Eric, Victor Villarreal; 4 great grandchildren, Anthony James and Allyson Jayde Tullos; Joseph and Donavick Lugo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 on Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a rosary to be recited at 7:00PM that same evening. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 10:00AM at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Benavides, Texas. Interment will follow at Benavides Cemetery, in Benavides, Texas.
