Erma was born May 6, 1915 in Bagley, Iowa to Carl and Mary (Hexamer) Evelsizer. She married Albert Medendrop in Gilman on September 29, 1945. He passed away on August 20, 1998.
She is survived by a son Brian (Nancy) Medendorp of Peoria, Illinois; grandson Dr. Andrew (Arlyn) Medendorp of Kailua, Hawaii; two granddaughters Dr. Sara (Brian) Krzyzaniak of Peoria; Kathryn Medendorp of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandson Vincent Medendorp, step-grandson Louis Bauers of Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin; two step-granddaughters Jodi Bauers of Indianapolis; Heidi Bauers of Peoria, step-great-grandson Aiden Bauers, step-great-granddaughter Johanna Bauers, two sisters Elsie Meier of Ashkum, Illinois and Wilma Thornton of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law Debbie and siblings Floyd, Raymond, Kenneth, Dorothy and Lorene.
She was a member of the Gilman United Methodist Church. Erma was also a member of the Happy Hour Club and Hobby Club. She had worked at People's Department Store, Thiel's Drug Store and was a homemaker and farm wife for over 37 years.
