Martin Andrus, who died in this village last week was 80 years, 11 months aud 11 days old and had been a resident of Perry and vicinity nearly sixty years. He first came to this section in 1832, from Shaftsbury, Vt. in 1834, he, with his father, David Andrus, and three brothers H . N. Andrus, who died about 40 years ago, David Andrus and Columbus P. Andrus all came from Shaftsbury and settled here. Soon after coming Martin Andras married Miss Clarissa Huntington, whose family also came from the same place in Vermont and by her were borne the brothers, Eugene H. and Frederick M. Andrus. His second marriage was with Miss Mary A. Ericsson, by whom he had two children, Henry E. Andrus and Clara Andrus, the latter of whom died several years ago. Mrs. Andrus, second, died about ten years ago.

There was a large attendance of relatives and friends at the funeral of the late Martin Andrus, held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Rev. C. H . Dibble officiating.
