Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Arnie Lee Bradberry and the late Eula Branyon Bradberry. For 61 years she was the loving and devoted wife of the late James Edward Erwin who preceded her in death in 2002..
Rachel was retired from Kroger Bakery after 32 years of service where she was employed as a machine operator. Her many children and grandchildren provided her greatest joy. Rachel was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Starr.
She is survived by five sons: John Lee Erwin (Doris) of Starr, Kenneth Erwin of Townville, Billy Erwin of Townville, Robert Erwin (Jean) of Belton, and Jackie Erwin of Belton; 2 daughters, Peggy Davenport (Roger) of Williamston and Carol Hester of Belton; grandchildren raised in the home are Robbie Allen and Brandon McClain. Mrs. Erwin is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Erwin was also preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Eugene Erwin and 2 sisters, Inez Cromer and Barbara Ann Young.
