Acca Thompson was born to Jacob and Jemima "Kinney" Painter. She was actually named Achsah which is her listed name in the 1850 census. The name Achsah was given in memory of her grandmother, Achsah "Van Doren" Painter, mother of Jacob Painter who died at the young age of 31. She married John Thompson on June 27, 1871 in Raritan, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. They had no children from this marriage.
