James C. "Cecil" Kilrain of Quincy, died Dec. 19, 2012. Beloved husband of Effie (Cameron) Kilrain of Quincy, he was the loving father of James J. Kilrain and his wife Marie of Braintree and the late Jack C. Kilrain; brother of the late John J. Kilrain; father-in-law of Diane Kilrain of Quincy; cherished grandfather of James L. Kilrain and wife Jackie of Quincy, Jacquline M. Kilrain of Quincy, Bonnie L. Kilrain of Weymouth, John C. Kilrain Jr. and wife Denise of Quincy; great-grandfather of John, Samantha, Jamie Colin, Kelsey and Aurora. Cecil is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. Cecil was a lifelong resident of Quincy and a graduate of Quincy High School. He was a career Navy electrician before retiring in 1958. In his earlier years, Cecil was an amazing athlete. He was inducted into the Quincy High School's football and baseball Hall of Fame in 1991. He was proud to be the grandson of Jake Kilrain who was the last bare knuckle fighter in the United States. He was a sincere man with deep devotion to his family and his faith; he was a devoted Catholic. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral Mass in St. Josephs Church, Quincy, Saturday at 10 a.m. Visiting hours were private. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
