Ruth M. Stemmler, 78, of Allison Park, formerly of Greensburg, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at home. Born June 4, 1934, in Hecla, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle (Hoffman) Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Stemmler, on June 12, 1992; brothers, Roy, Frank and John Miller; and a sister, Melva Forish. She was a member of Word of Life Ministries, Greensburg. Ruth is survived by children, Randy and his wife, Shelby Stemmler, of Latrobe, Brian Stemmler and Gerald Stemmler, both of Greensburg, and Debra "D.J." Stemmler, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Erin and Steven Stemmler, John Jay and Matthew Michael Stemmler and Sergei Stemmler; and great-grandchild, Brady William. Also surviving are a sister, Betty Bossart, of Mt. Pleasant; and brother-in-law, William Stemmler, of Greensburg. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, 15674. Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with her son, the Rev. Randy A. Stemmler, officiating. Interment to follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.
