Shauna attended Eagle High School, and called herself a "scholar".
Shauna was a silver medalist at the NWP 2009 Regional Figure Skating Championships, and a bronze medalist at the 2010 regional event. She competed in the 2011 National Qualifier. She was also an attendee of the 2011 National Solo Ice Dancing Championships in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and placed 5th in the Canasta Tango event. She recently earned her USFSA Bronze Medal Freeskate, and her Silver Medal Moves In the Field. Shauna was passionate about her skating and was using it as tool for college applications.
Shauna taught herself to play the violin, and was part of the Eagle High Orchestra that played in Carnegie Hall under Dee Ann Orchard. She loved her orchestra friends.
Shauna earned a Youth Congressional Award from the Office of Congress, and was preparing to turn in her silver level award. Shauna was passionate about attending Stanford University and eventually studying law to become an environmental lawyer.
When she was 3 years old, she would pick up trash at the park while other children played. Shauna wore scarfs everyday because she claimed she was getting used to dressing with success. She and her sister, Haley, were inseparable and spent countless hours on the beach of Key West together making memories. She loved her sister, Haley, and will continue to guide her with love from heaven.
Shauna is survived by her mother and father; sister, Haley; grandmothers, Jackie and Rosemary; uncles, Randy, Peter, Bill, Frank, and her aunts, Elizabeth, Susan, Pamela, and Colleen. Shauna is also survived by cousins Katie, Dominic, Matt, Stephanie, Shannon, Dani, Jennica, Olivia, Frankie and Kayli. Shauna also had a devoted family member, Pam Stedman who Shauna loved.
She was also a devoted to her mini schnauzer Buddy, who from heaven she will view him barking and playing.
She was preceded in death by her Grandpa Bill, Grandpa Jay, and her most awesome namesake, Aunt Shauna Hill Rand.
Her daddy will miss his angel.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, December 21, 2012 from 4:00-8:00p.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Apostles Catholic Church.
