George H. Carter, 59, Dies; Was Engineer
George H. Carter, 59, died in his home, 636 Royden Street, Sunday of a heart attack. Born in Burlington, he lived at the Royden Street address 37 years.
He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad 43 years, had been a locomotive engineer since 1916, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Firemen and Engineers and Ionic Lodge 94, F& AM.
Surviving are his widow, Mary H.; two sons, John R., Pennsauken and George H. Jr., with the First Marine Air Force in Korea, and a daughter, Mrs. Margaret E. McGahey, Hopewall Junction, N.Y.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM in the Murray Funeral Home, 408 Cooper Street, Camden, N.J., where friends may call Tuesday night. Burial will be in Locustwood Memorial Park.
