Services for Marcel R. Kerckhove, 85, of East Moline, are 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline.
Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a Catholic Order of Foresters and church rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's School.
Mr. Kerckhove died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
He was born Dec. 9, 1918, in East Moline, son of Cyriel and Alida DeBruyne Kerckhove. He married Helene VandenBerghe June 19, 1943, in East Moline.
He owned and operated VandenBerghe Insurance Agency, East Moline, for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of St. Mary's Church, where he served as a trustee; the Knights of Columbus; the Catholic Order of Foresters; and East Moline Rotary, where he was a past president.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Helene; daughters (and spouse), Jean (Paul) Carlson, East Lansing, Mich., Karen Kerckhove, Aurora, Ill.; a son, Larry Kerckhove, East Moline; a granddaughter, Katherine Carlson; a sister, Germaine Miller, Davenport; and brothers, Julius Kerckhove, East Moline, and Maurice Kerckhove, Moline.
