Retired Farmer, 72, Resided at Hewitt
Peter A. Eberhardy, 72, retired Hewitt farmer who had been in ill health for the past two years with a heart ailment, died at 6 a.m. today at his home on route 5.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hewitt. The Rev. Bernard Henry will offer the Requiem Mass, which will be followed by burial in the parish cemetery.
Beginning this evening the body will lie in state at the Rembs Funeral Home. the Knights of Columbus will recite prayers at 7:30 tonight. A Christian Mothers rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday will be followed at 8 o'clock by a general rosary to include members of the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, of which Mr. Eberhardy was a member.
Born in Germany Aug. 12, 1885, Mr. Eberhardy came to the United States at the age of eight years. His parents lived in Milwaukee for about a year and then moved to the farm which he later took over and operated until 10 years ago. A son now operates the farm.
Mr. Eberhardy is survived by his wife, the former Anna Schuster, whom he married Oct. 15, 1912, at Bakerville; and six daughters and three sons, Sister M. (Marie) Peter, Mrs. Val (Adelaide) Schueller, Mrs. Floyd (Delores) Rogers and Lawrence, all of Marshfield, Alfred, on the home farm, Mrs. Joseph (Blandina) Loosen, Hartford, Mrs. Harris (Lorraine) Sinon, Hubertus, Mrs. Roland (Theresa) Kienast, Rubicon, and Adolph, Sheboygan Falls.
Other survivors are two sisters, Sister M. De Cruce, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Frank Lindmann, San Francisco; one brother, John Eberhardy, Marshfield; and 21 grandchildren. One sister and a brother preceded him in death.
