US Marine Corps-Vietnam: was killed in action on Friday, (May 10, 1968) Ngok Tavak, South Vietnam, At that time he was listed as MIA/POW. His remains are now recovered after 37 years.

Son of William and Mary Fritsch of Cromwell, CT

He grew up in Portland, moving to Cromwell, in 1965. While living in Portland, he attended Gildersleeve Elementary School, Valley View and Portland Junior High Schools. His High School years were at E.C. Goodwin Technical - Vocational School in New Britain, where he graduated in 1966 in the Culinary Arts Trade.

While living in Portland, Tom was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, and helped out as cook for the scouts at Camp Tadma, Norwich, in the summers. He was also a member of the Portland Volunteer Fire Department, and worked part time cooking for the Portland Restaurant.
