Mrs. Mabel N. Brown, former Alexandria resident, died Friday, September 8, 1972, at 4:45 a.m. in the Garvey Manor at Hollidaysburg R.D. where she had been a guest since June 1, 1972. She was born March 15, 1881 at Alexandria RD3., a daughter of Jacob and Alice (Huyette) Neff.

She was united in marriage to Harry Brown of Huntingdon on October 19, 1918. He preceded her in death July 19, 1943. Surviving are two sons: Philip N. Brown of Mechanicsburg and Robert H. Brown of Hollidaysburg. There are five grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother and a sister, Guy M. Neff of Alexandria and Mrs. John (Maude) Martin of Huntingdon R.D. 1. Two sisters preceded her in death, Mrs. George (Frances) Phillips and Mrs. Daniel (Blanche) Miller. The deceased was a member, of the United Church of Christ, Alexandria, Her entire life had been spent in the Alexandria area, until 1966, when she made her home with her son at Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 10, at 2:30 P.m. with her pastor, The Rev. William T. Scott, Jr. officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening and until the time of the services on Sunday.
