Kenneth Abbott, area native, dies at 57
St. Charles -- Kenneth Clinton Abbott, 57, of Independence, Iowa, and a native of St. Charles, died of a heart attack Monday (Aug. 30, 1993).
He was born here on Aug. 19, 1936, an attended St. Charles schools. He moved with his family to Freeborn, Minn., in 1952, and graduated from Freeborn high School in 1954. He later served three years in the Marine Corps.
Survivors include his mother, Anna Abbott of Lewiston; and four sisters, Rose Marie Lundquist of Stillwater, Minn., Lorraine (Mrs. Robert) Oldham of Chisago City, Minn., Loretta (Mrs. Reed) Mace of Austell, Ga., and Carlotta Gay (Mrs. Earl) Sommers of Kansas City, Kan. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sept 17 at the Lewiston Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in Worthy Cemetery in rural Utica.
