Glenn Edward DeRamus, 46, died Friday, December 21, 2012, from injuries sustained in a tragic accident at his home in Calhoun, LA. Ed was born July 16, 1966 in Monroe, LA and lived in Lafayette, LA, Baltimore, MD, Hot Springs, AR, and Calhoun, LA. He worked throughout his life in the oil fields advancing from floor hand to motorman to rig manager. Ed was a licensed minister, served as a youth pastor, and was a member of the Souls Harbor United Pentecostal Church of Calhoun, LA.Ed was preceded in death by his father and mother, Derwood and Gladys DeRamus, and a brother, John DeRamus.He is survived by his wife; Missi; one brother; Rev. Jim DeRamus (and Cynthia), two sisters; Bertha Scoggins (and Rev. Nathan) and Betty DeRamus; two sons; Justin DeRamus (and Jessica) and Little Ed DeRamus; two daughters; Stephanie DeRamus and Ashley Futch (and Hunter); nine grandchildren; Brooklyn, Maddox, Kyrie-Catherine, Paisleigh, Blayne, Gracelynn, Braelynn, Ava-Rose, and Nathaniel; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.Ed was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was dearly cherished by his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a gentle soul and sensitive to the needs of others. He will be sorely missed by his family, church, and friends.Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., Monday, December 24rd at Souls Harbor United Pentecostal Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Jimmy Masters and Pastor Buddy Buie officiating.Burial will be at the Kilpatrick Cemetery with Rodney Powell, James Fortenberry, Billy Smith, Jimmy Whitaker, Daniel Ebey, Randy Angelle, Jared Angelle, and Chance Angelle serving as pallbearers.Honorary pallbearers are Mike Powell, James Powell, Knox Handkins, Nick Angelle, and DeWayne Self.
