She was born on September 8, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late Julius and Ruby Nix Martin. She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by her husband , Glen Singleton, of the home; two sons: Jeffery Earl (Robin) Daye, of Salisbury and David Steve (Linda) Daye, of Boonville; a sister: Betty Jo Hutchens, of Yadkinville; three grandchildren: Chris (Sandra) Daye, Patrick Daye, and Jacob Daye; two great-grandchildren: Savannah and Brianna Daye; a niece: Rebecca Hobson; and a nephew: Joe Hutchens.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son: Randy Daye, and a brother: Willie Lee Martin.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from the Chapel at Mackie-Sinclair-Hawkins Funeral Service (2001 West Main Street, Yadkinville,) with the Rev. Eddy Driver officiating. Burial will follow in Yadkinville Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
