Information: Carl Everett Thorn, Sr., 59, 4104 10th Ave., died Saturday in St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born at Sandyville, a son of the late William and Minnie Angus Thorn. He was a veteran of World War II and was employed by Union Carbide Metals. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Stiles Thorn; two sons, Carl E. Thorn, Jr., Parkersburg and Robert Thorn, at home; four grandchildren; four brothers, Amos Thorn of Fort Meade, Fla., Dan and Wallace Thorn of Jackson County and Fred Thorn of Powelltown, Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Sutton, Parkersburg, Mrs. Clara Crimmel of Fort Meade, Fla., and Mrs. Grace DeVaughn of Orlando, Fla. One brother preceded him in death. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Vaughan Funeral Home with the Rev. William Suthpin officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
