Levi M. Billings, one of the best known residents of this town, died at his home on Center street last Monday morning at 4 o'clock of heart disease.
Mr. Billings was born in Royalton, Vt, February 19th, 1820, and was one of a family of 10 children. His parents removed to Rochester in 18??, where his father died. The widow and her family afterwards removed to Perry, and the only surviving members of the large family are Mr. N. H. Billing and Mrs. C. P. Andrus, both of this village.
For several years, Mr. Billings was a conductor on the main line of the New York Central Railroad, afterwards serving in the same capacity on the Attica and batavia branch of that road. A number of years ago he retired and purchased the Rathbun farm, west of Silver Lake, afterward removing to this village, purchasing a home on Center street. Mr. and Mrs. Billings were the parents of one child -- a son --- Mr. Charles Billings of St. Paul, Minn., who with his family is here to attend the funeral.
Funeral services were held at his late residence. Interment will be made in Hope Cemetery.
