Percell L. Johnson Sr., a retired letter carrier, died March 10, 1991, in a hospital.

Mr. Johnson, a native of Emporia, had retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 33 years. He was a member and trustee of St. John's A.M.E. Church. He was a member of the Brotherhood for Christ, NAACP, National Association of Letter Carriers and the Hiwathans Civic Club. He was a former treasurer of L & J Civic League and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Johnson; two daughters, Jessie J. Brown of Virginia Beach and Lola J. Buie of Chula Vista, Calif.; a son, Percell Johnson Jr. of Bellevue, Wash.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in St. John's A.M.E. Church by the Rev. I.W. Knight. Burial will be in Calvary Cemtery. Friends may join the family at the residence. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
