She was born in Carter County, Kentucky on September 5, 1917 the daughter of William Alvin and Clydie (Porter) Henderson.
During World War II, she worked at Niles Steel Products and later in life in the Laundry Department at Glen View Manor Nursing Home. She was an outstanding quilter and enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Mary is survived by five children, Maxine (Forest) Gilliam of Howland, Kenneth Lowe of Warren, David (Wanda) Lowe of Mineral Ridge, Bonnie L. Gadd of Howland, Deborah West of Girard; 17 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Lowe whom she married on July 19, 1933 and who died on October 13, 1987; two children, Nellie Delores Poling, Richard Eugene Poling; brother, Dee Henderson; sister, Edna Barker and two half-sisters, Della Garris, Martha Smith.
Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
