Samuel Bailey, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, May 3, 1993, at Central Michigan Community Hospital in Mt. Pleasant.
Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Dennis C. Baum officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Memorials may be made to Prospect Park Church of God.
He was born June 28, 1908, in Hart, the son of Louis and Elizabeth (Kequom) Bailey.
A Mt. Pleasant resident for more than 50 years, he was a member of the Prospect Park Church of God. He also worked as head mechanic for the City of Mt. Pleasant, retiring in 1973.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Thomas and her husband Larry of Mt. Pleasant and their family, grandchildren, Roxanna Darnell and her husband Doug of Weidman, Terry Thomas of Mt. Pleasant, and Brian Thomas and his fiancee Renee Peters of Mt. Pleasant and great-grandsons, Robert Michael Thomas and Zachery Lawrence Thomas, a daughter, Nancy Funnell and her husband Jerry of Mt. Pleasant and their families; three brothers, Willie Bailey and his wife Daisy of Mt. Pleasant, James Bailey and his wife Rita of Mt. Pleasant, and Perry Bailey and his wife Myrtle of Tennessee, a sister, Hager Fallis of Pontiac, and a sister-in-law, Gladys Bailey of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lahy Bailey, and a sister, Nancy Coaty.
