Note: Norway, Maine - Lyyli Alina Haverinen, 100, of Norway, died Thursday, 19 May 2005, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was born in Gardner, Massachusetts, on 30 November 1904, the daughter of Albert and Hilma Puranen Laitinen. She was taken to Finland at the age of two, where she lived until 1923. That same year, she went to Gardner, Massachusetts, and was employed in the City Hospital. Two years later, she moved to Chicago, where she met her husband, John, and they were married in 1932. Of this marriage they had one daughter, Barbara Laila Sylvia who passed away in 1959. After her husband retired in 1973, they moved to South Paris, Maine and made their residence there. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John.
