Leo Glenn Burdick was born August 26, 1928 in Newell, South Dakota. H was adopted by Glenn Harry and Pearl Irene (Short) Burdick later that same year in 1928. He attended schools in Whitewood and Strugis. After completing his education, he worked at various mechanic shops where he was an auto mechanic.
He married Kathleen Mary Ramsdell on March 24, 1947 in Sturgis, South Dakota. They lived on the family homestead nortwest of Sturgis where they farmed and ranched until they moved to Sturgis in the mid 60's. They had five children, Thomas, Roxie, Dixie, Kathryn and Cynthia. They divorced on March 24, 1973 in Sturgis. He moved to Rapid City.
He was Christained in 1949 at the First Prebyterian Church in Sturgis.
He was working as an auto mechanic in Rapid City, South Dakota. He married Wanda Schatz in Rapid City.
He died April 27, 2003 in Rapid City, South Dakota, at the Meadowbrook Manor Health Care Facility in Rapid City.
He is buried in Whitewood Cemetery.
Suvivors include his wife Wanda of Rapid City,; one son Thomas Burdick, Newell; four daughters, Rixie McQuilkin, Rapid City, Dixie Davis, Miles City, Montana, Kathy Rhoden, Newell and Cindy Long of Douglas, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to the Cornerstone Mission in Rapid City.
