EX-CITY POLICEMAN

Edwin T. Adam, a former Reading policeman, died Feb. 21, 2007, in his residence in Muhlenberg Township.

Adam, 60, was the husband of Donna M. (Soyka) Adam.

He was a police officer in Reading for 18 years, retiring in 1990.

Born in Mariemont, Ohio, he was a son of the late John H. and Betty L (Berger) Adam.

He was a 1964 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a 1972 graduate of the Reading Police Academy.

Adam served as an Army MP during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Pike Township Sportsman's Beneficial Association. A.B.A.T.E. Motorcycle Association, Reading; and the Reading Police Beneficial Association.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jody D. Adam, St. Lawrence; a stepdaughter, Sandra (Sandy) Huffman, Elverta, Calif.; and two stepsons, Charles Woodard, Redwood City, Calif., and Buddy Woodard, Roseville, Calif.

Other survivors include two sisters, Bonnie, wife of Nelson Green, Harrodsberg, Ky., and Sandra, wife of Louis Dake, Mohnton.

There also are four step-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, John D. Adam, on Oct. 3, 1995.

Services will be private. Burkey & Drsicoll Funeral Home Inc., Hamburg, is in charge of arrangements.
