Kenneth C. Wenditz Sr., 67, of 1738 Stevens St., East Petersburg, died of natural causes Sunday at Lancaster General Hospital.

A welder for High Steel Structures, he retired in 1993 after 21 years.

Wenditz served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

He was a member of Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ and American Legion Post 34, both in Lancaster.

Wenditz was a former coach of midget soccer, basketball, baseball and football. He enjoyed fishing and the mountains.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Grace Metzler Wenditz.

He was married 30 years in October to Barbara J. Rhinier Wenditz.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Robert K., married to Cheryl Wenditz of Millersville, Kenneth C. Jr. of Lancaster and Michael A. of East Petersburg; four grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Lou, married to Laverne Kroft of Long Neck, Del., Kate Benny of Tupelo, Miss., and Nancy Weaver of Melbourne, Fla.; and two brothers, William, married to Karen Wenditz of Largo, Fla., and Gerald, married to Freda Wenditz of Richmond, Va.
